The Turtle Van

Cowabunga dudes! I know you’re all familiar with this line. It’s the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Before the latest movie was released earlier this year, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had been a crowd favorite way back since it was first shown as an animated series. I feel like a child again when the subject is all about the turtles in a half shell! This is one of my favorite animated TV shows back in my childhood years. Actually, I didn’t miss an episode of this rock and rolling animated action series because they are totally cool. Turtles, ninjas, pizza and a giant rat are a super hit combination! Now let’s talk about something more awesome aside from the turtles.

Let’s talk about their Turtle Van also known as the Party Wagon! This vehicle is so cool that even in the toughest encounters of the turtles with the enemies, the Turtle Wagon never failed the good guys! They must have strong parts like maybe a Subaru CV boot!

Actually, this van was first owned by Baxter Stockman before he was thrown to prison. Donatello engineered and developed the van with additional equipment and gadgets from Stockman’s lab. It includes various monitoring devices and missile systems. Regardless of having bright yellow and green colors and being very noticeable, the Turtle Van is the Turtles’ main mode of transportation. In 2003 series, another Turtle vehicle came into view. It was called the Battle Shell! It was actually based on an early Dodge forward-control van, because of its split windshield and the engine found beneath the front seats.

Now let’s meet the main characters once again to refresh our kiddy minds and bring back the excitement of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!! Turtle Power!

  • Leonardo: Turtle with a blue mask who wields two Ninjaken swords (offten called Katana’s). The leader of the Turtles, he is the mainly serious member of team and is the closest to Splinter.
  • Donatello: Turtle with a purple mask who wields a Bo staff.
  • Raphael: Turtle with a red mask who wields two sai daggers. No sword on Earth can withstand his sai.
  • Michaelangelo: Turtle with an orange mask, who is the master of the whirling Nunchucks. (And master of the whirling pizzas too!)
  • Hamato Yoshi/Master Splinter: A strict and wizened sensei, he is the mutant rat who trained the Turtles in ninjitsu.
  • April O’Neil: Red-headed Channel 6 TV reporter who discovers the Turtles’ home in the sewers.
  • Oroku Saki/Shredder: The Arch-villain of the Turtles and Splinter. The Shredder wears a suit covered in metal blades, a cape, and a metal helmet and mask.
  • Krang: A disembodied brain who was a warlord in Dimension X before he was exiled and had his body taken away.
  • Bebop and Rocksteady: Formerly New York City street gang members, they were mutated by the Shredder to act as his personal henchmen.
  • Foot Soldiers: The ninjas led by the Shredder. In the 1987 animated series, most Foot Soldiers are robots.

“Go-Go-Gadget Car!”

Imagine having car which can morph into almost anything. Although not as smart as Bumblebee or other car/robots, Inspector Gadget’s Gadgetmobile is one cool car.

First off, if you know who Inspector Gadget is, you would know what is so unique with his daily driver. According to Wikipedia: “Inspector Gadget is an animated television series about a clumsy, absent-minded, and oblivious detective, Inspector Gadget, who is a cyborg with various ‘gadgets’ built into his anatomy.”

Well, I could have told you that, but I had so much fun watching the show that I’m afraid my account of who Inspector Gadget is may be biased. Not that it would count, of course. In spite of the Inspector’s being clumsy, he is still the second best Inspector I know of, next only to Inspector Mills. His body with all its gadgetry must be so cool. Imagine having almost every gadget ever invented stored inside you and can be activated by simply calling for it.

Going back to the car, although the Gadgetmobile is not exactly the best looking car out there, its gadgetry makes up for that. This car has what it takes to take on the likes of the Batmobile but since it operates like its owner, it will only be a constant embarrassment to Inspector Gadget. Its arsenal though is loaded. Some of the features of the Gadgetmobile include a smoke screen, a siren, tack dropper or that ability to drop tacks designed to blow out the tires of the vehicle behind it. It also has ejector seats, and a claw on the front end of the vehicle.

For all these features, I’m left wondering whether the Gadgetmobile has an Electronic Stability Program (ESP). I wonder if it can pass the safety tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). What I’m actually pointing out is the number of gadgets that it possesses. The ejector seats, for example, may be something that would not be permitted.

But in terms of protecting its occupants, it would definitely beat a Volvo. Wikipedia says: “It is also, for the most part, nigh invulnerable. There are a few occasions where it has taken head-on collisions, attacks or has fallen from great heights and remained completely intact.”

The Delta Runners in Power Rangers: S.P.D.

I remember, when I was a kid, I used to go straight home after school just to watch the Mighty Morphine Power Rangers. I know you are familiar with these heroic teenagers who were given power zords to use these against the evil invaders of the earth.

What amazes me on that particular TV series were the cars used by the Power Rangers. At my young age, I already displayed my enthusiasm towards cars. The series which I love the most was the Power Rangers: S.P.D. where these Rangers are given power zords and law-enforcement vehicles called the Space Patrol Delta. Mind you, I even bought a complete set of those cars.

These vehicles are like Transformers. There are five cars and these cars are transformed into head, arms, chest, waist and legs to form a huge robot that fights with the humongous monsters on the city.

These vehicles are called the Delta Runners.

The Delta Runner 1 is run by the red ranger named Jack. This vehicle is 6-wheeler police car that forms the arms of the Megazord. The main attack of this robocar is called the Transformation Delta where the Delta Runners 3 and 4 combines their powers to destroy the monster.

The Delta Runner 2 is driven by Sky, the blue ranger. The vehicle is a futuristic gyro-copter that uses laser beams as well as Rescue Cable to battle up effectively with the presence of the evil monsters.

The green ranger owns the Delta Runner 3 which is a sleek-looking truck. The huge trailer is so powerful to give out Mega Blaster as well as the Delta Sword’s blade. The main power of the Zord comes from the Mega Blaster. The intensive power of the mega Blaster can also be used by the Mega Zord to defeat its villain. It also fires out a Super Crime Scene Tape.

The armored truck is the Delta Runner 4 driven by the yellow ranger Z. the power of the floodlights is used to blind the enemies. It also becomes the sword of the Mega Zord.

The last vehicle is the cutest small buggy-like car among them all. The Delta Runner 5 is owned by the pink ranger named Sydney . It uses the electronic sign to traffic and make decisions. It is also an amphibian car that can go underwater but it was never shown on the series.

I was actually looking for a Subaru OEM parts when I visited wikipedia.com and found about this very interesting piece.

Mr. Bean’s Mini

Everybody loves Rowan Atkinson - the comedian who played the role of the purely hilarious Mr. Bean. From the TV series of Mr. Bean, the show eventually emerged as one of the world’s favorite TV shows. Because of its immense popularity, Mr. Bean’s producers filmed a movie inspired by his adventures in the TV series. The first movie produced was entitled Mr. Bean. And the latest one was entitled Bean’s Holiday. These two comedy flicks went on full blast in theatres during its first screening!

Mr. Bean’s phenomenal success continued with their newest show in Disney Channel - Mr. Bean the Animated Series! Same old Mr. Bean antics are featured in this TV series, just like the live persona being played by Rowan Atkinson. The character is basically Mr. Bean, no further difference from his personal character. I mean there is no difference at all aside from the fact that he was animated or caricatured. All the likes of Mr. Bean are being shown in this funny animated series which is definitely loved by people of all ages.

Nothing was changed in the animated film especially his car. What is Mr. Bean’s car anyway?

Mr. Bean’s car is a vintage 1970s MK IV British Leyland Mini 1000. On the live TV series, an orange 1969 Morris Mini MK II (registration RNT 996H, although the body of the car was actually from a MK1 car of 1963/64) was the first car of Mr. Bean. Unfortunately, this was smashed in a crash on the final run of the first episode. Because of the incident, they’ve used a 1977 model (registration SLW 287R), luminous lime green/yellow in colors with a black bonnet. It first appeared in “The Curse of Mr. Bean” episode. Today, this car is as popular as Mr. Bean is on the animated series! The Mr. Bean animated series is filled with color and fun, but we will never be satisfied from watching without spotting his cute little Mini! Now tell me, can you match your Subaru auto parts or your BMW 325i parts with this timeless Mini?
