The White Comet

In the Initial D manga, one of the most talented drivers for me is Ryosuke Takahashi or just Ry. He is the member of the Akagi RedSuns, a team which is known for not racing in their home course because they can’t get excited about racing on it. The team has talented drivers including his brother Keisuki, but Ry stands out because of his being an analytical driver and his amazing win streak.
In the manga, he is very popular all over Japan and has graced the covers of various racing magazines along with his brother. He admires his brother for his ability to drive without any thoughts distracting him. Meanwhile, his brother is amazed by Ry’s ability to fine tune a vehicle. He is so talented when it comes to engines that he can pinpoint what adjustments have been made to an engine just by listening to its exhaust note. He is indeed one of the few gifted drivers who are considered the total package, one who can drive well and do the mechanic stuff too. For his talent and popularity as well as being the team leader of the RedSuns, Ry has been given the moniker “Akagi’s White Comet”.
Ry drives a Mazda FC3S RX-7 which you can expect to have reliable auto parts like fuel pump which you can buy online. His personality will not be complete though without a rival. And in the Initial D, his rival is Kyouichi Suduo. According to Wikipedia: “They argued about racing theories when Ryosuke ended Kyouichi’s winning streak a year before the series’ start.”
According to the story, Ry is now in college studying medicine. Unlike his brother who is planning to become a professional driver, Ry has chosen a different profession despite his talent in racing.
