EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle On The Stripes

Are you familiar with the movie “Stripes”? Well if you are, then you are familiar with the EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle, the fictional top secret United States Army project vehicle which was based on a GMC motorhome. It is a heavily armored vehicle that handles roll-away shutters to protect the windows. It can also fire weapons. The vehicle is also armored with machine-guns, a multiple rocket launcher, a cannon, flamethrowers as well as assorted infantry weapons. The vehicle was the one that shot the cannon aimed at the tower.
The car doesn’t have the Volkswagen alternator but it was one among the most used cars in the film. It was seen in the movie Stripes back in 1981. It was an American comedy film that starred Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Warren Oates. Ivan Reitman was the one who directed the film. Some actors like Judge Reinhold, Sean Young, John Larroquette and many more were also part of the film. Canadian actor John Candy has appeared in the said film and the movied served as his debut in the movie industry. Dave Thomas, Bill Paxton and Timothy Busfield were also in one scene each. The film was among Oates’s last films as he died of a sudden heart attack the year after it was released.
It was also noted as 18th in Bravo’s “100 Funniest Movies.”
