“Go-Go-Gadget Car!”
Imagine having car which can morph into almost anything. Although not as smart as Bumblebee or other car/robots, Inspector Gadget’s Gadgetmobile is one cool car.
First off, if you know who Inspector Gadget is, you would know what is so unique with his daily driver. According to Wikipedia: “Inspector Gadget is an animated television series about a clumsy, absent-minded, and oblivious detective, Inspector Gadget, who is a cyborg with various ‘gadgets’ built into his anatomy.”
Well, I could have told you that, but I had so much fun watching the show that I’m afraid my account of who Inspector Gadget is may be biased. Not that it would count, of course. In spite of the Inspector’s being clumsy, he is still the second best Inspector I know of, next only to Inspector Mills. His body with all its gadgetry must be so cool. Imagine having almost every gadget ever invented stored inside you and can be activated by simply calling for it.
Going back to the car, although the Gadgetmobile is not exactly the best looking car out there, its gadgetry makes up for that. This car has what it takes to take on the likes of the Batmobile but since it operates like its owner, it will only be a constant embarrassment to Inspector Gadget. Its arsenal though is loaded. Some of the features of the Gadgetmobile include a smoke screen, a siren, tack dropper or that ability to drop tacks designed to blow out the tires of the vehicle behind it. It also has ejector seats, and a claw on the front end of the vehicle.
For all these features, I’m left wondering whether the Gadgetmobile has an Electronic Stability Program (ESP). I wonder if it can pass the safety tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). What I’m actually pointing out is the number of gadgets that it possesses. The ejector seats, for example, may be something that would not be permitted.
But in terms of protecting its occupants, it would definitely beat a Volvo. Wikipedia says: “It is also, for the most part, nigh invulnerable. There are a few occasions where it has taken head-on collisions, attacks or has fallen from great heights and remained completely intact.”
